Holidays are here!!! my best time of the year. It’s something special during the holidays – uplifting spiritual vibrations, loving warmth of family and friends, a sense of togetherness, all perfectly synchronized with the uni-verse of Gratitude!!
Holidays give us a reason to have fun and celebrate the good things in life. But they can also be a trigger for stress and anxiety. Stress of shopping, attending all the social gatherings, or whatever might be the reason for you, holidays can leave us feeling totally overwhelmed and exhausted!

Stress weakens our immune system. And when we are stressed we “stop” thinking and start making all the wrong choices. Instead of digging into the tub of chocolate ice cream, we can look to the calming properties of herbal teas!!

Mint also popularly known as pudina is extensively used all over India. It has been used in Ayurveda for centuries and is believed to lift “heaviness” from the mind and to calm the nerves by balancing the flow of prana (life force) throughout the body.

Traditionally herbal chai is made by preparing a thick sugar syrup. Here we are going with a simpler, healthier and of course tastier version –

Herbal Mint Chai

. 1 small handful of fresh organic Mint leaves

. 2 Cardamom pods

. 1-2 Dates

. 2 cups Water

. 1 tsp fresh Lime/Lemon juice

This is so simple to make that there is no recipe as such to this. Bring water to a boil in a sauce-pot. Add the mint leaves and cardamom and let it slowly simmer for 10-15 mins. Switch off the heat. After a minute or so discard the mint leaves. Pour this liquid along with cardamom pods into a high-powered blender like Vitamix. Add the dates (which act as natural whole food sweetener) and some 4-5 fresh mint leaves to the blender and blend it on high speed for few seconds. Adding few fresh mint leaves is important as this gives a nice well-balanced taste of infused and fresh mint which makes this tea AWESOME!!

Try this blissful Mint Chai to stave off holiday stress and anxiety.
