Hello there! Here is my favorite summer beverage that I am excited to share with you all – lemonade made Ayurvedic style! This recipe was featured in CureJoy’s summer video series. Made with only 5 wholesome healthy ingredients!! Here is the added bonus link to my first FREE  Ayurvedic Vegan Ebook.
Pour this lemonade in a glass water bottle and take it with you to work or when running errands. It keeps you deeply hydrated and energized at the same time!

Benefits:

Chia Seeds  – Are know to plump up 4-6 times their size and are deeply hydrating. High in Omega 3 fatty acids helps to keep the skin healthy and moisturized in summer.  Per Ayurveda chia seeds are  tridoshic  and  sattvic  in nature.
Lime Juice  – According to Ayurveda, it’s beneficial to use freshly squeezed lime juice instead of lemon juice during the summer season because lime juice pacifies pitta dosha and lemon juice has a tendency to aggravate the pitta  dosha.
Rose Petals    –  Strongly encourage using organic rose petals in this drink as conventional rose petals are treated with harsh chemicals.According to Ayurveda, it’s not a coincidence rose is associated with love and caring. It balances the  sadhak pitta  that governs the emotions of the heart! It’s cooling in nature and is balancing for all three doshas.
Celtic Salt  – According to Ayurveda, including salt in your diet is in fact a  good  thing! But it does tell you clearly it’s not our regular white table salt. In fact white table salt is the culprit in many cases involving water retention, edema, and  bloating. Ayurveda teaches us to include high quality – high mineral salts like Celtic Salt or Himalayan Salt, which aid in absorption of nutrients and works as an electrolyte when included in our diet.
Medjool Dates  –  I like using whole food sweeteners in my recipes rather than using regular sugar as they are rich in minerals and  antioxidants.  Dates are cooling in nature and pacify  pitta dosha. They are also energizing and help to build  Ojas (balanced life energy).
Try making this drink and you will be surprised how amazing it tastes and makes you feel refreshed!

Ayurvedic Summer lemonade recipe:

– 1 -2 cups of Water
– 2-3 tbsp soaked organic  Chia Seeds  (soaked for 4 hrs or overnight)

– 1 – 11/2 tsp high mineral Celtic Salt (adjust per your taste)
– 2 – 3 Medjool Dates
Blend the ingredients in your blender and it’s ready to chug! Try it and adjust the ingredients according to your personal taste.I have this lemonade all through out summer and it really makes a huge difference in keeping my body cool and hydrated from inside out.
